Zoho Sprints Vs. Zoho Projects

By September 18, 2019May 6th, 2020No Comments

The Zoho One business suite has many products that seem to serve the same purpose. We often get many questions about this, but none more than the difference between Zoho Springs and Zoho Projects. This makes sense! Both of these programs are project management programs where you can work collaboratively with your team to complete a shared goal. Although the goals of these programs there are some distinct differences between them. Today I’m going to review the differences between these two programs, so you can choose the one that is best for your business.

Zoho Sprints

At it’s core- Zoho Sprints takes an “Agile” approach to project management. Agile project management is an incremental approach to completing a project. You can read more about it  here. As an agile project management (APM) software, everything in this application is streamlined. Zoho Sprints does not have all of the bells as whistles of Zoho Projects, but honestly, that’s not a bad thing! If you need a program that allows you to plan, communicate, and run analytics on a project- then sprints are what you need. It is no frills, while still having the easy to understand layout of a Zoho program. Sprints markets itself as a program that is focused on more short-term projects (the program is called Sprints, not Marathons). You can certainly use this program for long-term projects if you are looking for a efficient program that gives you a place to collaborate and keep track of what needs to get done.

Zoho Projects

In the same way that Zoho Sprints is simplified, Zoho Projects is an all you can eat buffet. This program, you are able to break down everything needs to do be done in to tasks. Once these tasks are created you can assign them to members of your team, and even create sub-tasks to further delegate. Like the Zoho CRM, you can choose a list view, or the Japanese Kanban style. No matter how you use it- Zoho Projects will get any project you’re tackling off to a strong start. . Zoho Projects also understands that and makes communicating easier than ever with it’s feed feature. What is a feed? Think of social media… Project feeds is a message board where you can post questions, updates, drop files and more. This is an alternative to sending emails or phone calls and allows your project team to collaborate in a quick and streamlined manner. These are just a few of the features that Zoho Projects provides. This program really has everything you can think of when it comes to project management tools.

So which one is better?

There really isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer for that question. Both programs are fantastic, and are very helpful tools for mobilizing a project. If you would like to customize the PM process to your team’s specific needs, Projects may be the road for you- if you like things clean and simple, then maybe try Sprints.
