Dynamics 365: Schedule Board Woes: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”

If you’ve found this page from Googling the above error, I’m sorry.  This is a tough one.  This non-helpful error pops up on the occasional schedule board and is a complete pain to troubleshoot.  Below is a short list of the three things I look at when this happens! If you have any additional tips, please share them in the comments below!

  1. Perform a Health Check on your Schedule Board
  2. Go page by page through the list of resources on the schedule board. Does the error only come up on certain pages, but the rest work fine?  This *hopefully* indicates that there is an issue with one of the resource records on the pages that throw errors. If it occurs on all pages, this could indicate a different issue.
  3. Check APIs/other customizations that could have changed without your knowledge (for example, Google changing the URL of the mapping API)
