As more and more organizations transition to the new user interface, you might find that some options for custom portals that were previously found in the Contact entity menu are missing or throwing errors.  If you need to fix or add the “Change Password” or “Create Invitation” menu buttons, keep reading for a simple fix.

We will be updating the “Custom Portal” solution to fix this issue.
First, go to, then select “environments”, then “…”, then “Manage Solutions”:

Locate the “Dynamics 365 Portals – Custom Portal” solution and update it (the new version will likely be 9.0.x.x or later):


That will add the “Create Invitation” and “Change Password” menu options to the Contact entity once again.
