Office 365: Use the Help Box to Find What you Need

Microsoft implemented an interactive and contextual search box in many of its applications some time ago. This feature is often overlooked, but can be a huge help in Office 365 applications like Word and Excel, among others.  It actually gives you real menu options as answers! This is far superior to the old “help” button/window where it just searched Bing.

Open up Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc—most Microsoft Office 365 applications have this feature! Search for whatever you need in the search box in the upper right corner—it doesn’t have to be exact.

For example, in Excel, I searched for “deduplicate”, and a few different actions were returned, including “remove duplicates”. This pulls directly from the menu tabs, and can be a huge help in finding some of the more hidden menu options:
