Microsoft Teams – Notifications Settings and Skype for Business Integration

By February 28, 2017No Comments

In this post, we’ll be checking out the Notifications Settings in Microsoft Teams. There, we’ll enable (or disable, depending on your needs) Skype for Business Integration. You can also make changes to how you receive Teams Notifications. Any changes made apply here only to you, not your entire org.

If you’d like to see an in-depth analysis of the S4B-Teams integration, check out this post from Mastering Lync.

View Notifications Settings

As always, go ahead and start up Teams and sign in if you haven’t already. “>Settings”> in the lower-left corner:

Select Notifications from the Pop-Up menu:

Here, we see the full Notifications Settings panel:

Select a drop-down menu to change how you receive notifications for that item:

Note: Currently, you can only receive notifications for a specific Channel if you or the Channel is mentioned using @. Microsoft is currently working on allowing Notifications for all conversations in a Channel, regardless of @mentions.

Enabling Skype For Business Integration

To enable Skype for Business Integration, select Enabled from the drop-down menu. This will immediately restart Microsoft Teams. Upon restart, Skype for Business Integration is enabled.:
